A former ballet dancer, Melissa has replaced pointe shoes and arabesques with capris and downward facing dogs since taking her first yoga class in 2009. Yoga helped Melissa feel more present in day-to-day activities, develop a more positive body image, and acquire a healthy sense of humor about her yoga practice – it's her playtime. In 2014, Melissa completed studies with Kathryn Budig and Gina Caputo, earning a RYT 200 hour certification in integrated vinyasa yoga. While Melissa enjoys the study and teaching of asana alignment, her greatest joy as a teacher is to see her students surprise themselves and discover what their bodies are capable of, all while relieving stress and tension, and bringing about change in their hearts, minds, and bodies.  During the week, Melissa is a geographic information systems analyst with a potent wanderlust bug.
