Class Descriptions

Asthanga – Mixed Levels

With a traditional Ashtanga opening and closing, the core of the class is a fun mix-up of arm balances, inversions, challenging backbends and more. We will heat the room naturally while purifying the muscles and internal organs. Open to students of all levels -- it's about exploration and adventure! If you're new to the Ashtanga practice we offer modifications, use of props and lots of chances to rest and observe.

First Friday: Vino & Vinyasa

Southtown has become the place to be every First Friday of the month. Why not kick off your evening by joining in this fun and exhilarating all-levels flow class. It's a funky blend of breathing, postures, music and laughter. Afterwards, stick around for a glass of wine and conversation prior to embarking on your S. Alamo stroll! *New Student Promo not valid.

Early Bird Yoga

Wake up the body, mind, and spirit with a series of gentle warm ups moving onto a more dynamic practice to energize you for the day. 

Basic Beginner Series

The Basic Beginner Series is a 4-week class designed to provide a foundation on which to build your yoga practice. We'll explore some basic guidelines to help you prepare your body and mind for your practice. We'll teach you how to properly utilize your breath, along with some helpful tools for remaining present and centered. We'll also explore in detail how to find correct alignment, including how to properly modify all of the most commonly practiced yoga postures. Next series: January 8, 15, 22, 29. 

Yoga for Lunch

Yoga for Lunch is an invigorating way to restore energy, calm your mind, decrease your appetite, and eliminate those afternoon "blahs." The practice of yoga at midday leaves you feeling happy, calm and energized, instead of lethargic or jittery from a heavy meal or a cup of coffee. Give yourself a noontime pick-me-up and try Yoga for Lunch!

Prenatal Workshop 

This hour-long class will focus on postures that are appropriate for pregnant women with an emphasis on breathing, relaxation and muscle toning. Have the best possible pregnancy and delivery by learning to stretch and strengthen the body, focus and relax the mind, control breathing and develop awareness. Best of all, meet a lovely community of pregnant women in your neighborhood!

Morning/Evening Vinyasa

Vinyasa means breath-synchronized movement. When used to describe a style of yoga, Vinyasa means that poses will flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath. Variations in Sun Salutations are often used followed by standing sequences, balancing poses and seated poses. Beginner to Intermediate.

Candlelight Flow (Heated)

Let the worries of the day melt away as fluid movement warms the body and steady breath calms the mind.  Leave feeling refreshed and restored!  All levels welcome to this heated Vinyasa flow practice.
